About my journey to Nativity
The Priesthood is a second career for me after an initial career as a professional musician. I’ve served two parishes in the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast, and I’ll be coming to you after a rich tenure as rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Chapel. Alice is a talented professional drummer and a veterinary technician of 20 years. Together, we have a passion for building relationships with people who have been disaffected and wounded by their experience with organized religion. We are energized by Nativity’s vision for The Red Door Community as an initiative that will foster wellness, creativity, and spiritual exploration in the context of radical hospitality.
Nativity is a special place in a stunning location where a sense of the sacred is easily felt, but above all this, what really stands out to us is your love for the parish, and your willingness to work together, moving forward into a new season of possibility. My personal spirituality is rooted in the conviction that God, the ground of our being, exists in and works through everyone, calling us to love and serve each other as a response to that pervading presence. I look forward to growing together in that conviction as we explore what church looks like as it reaches out to love and include people in new and creative ways. We’re so excited to be among you and begin our adventure together!
I share my sermons at David Chatel.
