the religious voice in the public square
I'm a big fan of Joan Chittister, who is a Roman Catholic Benedictine sister and well-known writer and activist. She writes a weekly column in the National Catholic Reporter and I go every Friday morning to that website to find her latest pearl of wisdom. This week, her article is called "the rise of the other religious voice in the public arena" and it says some things about the role of the church in public life which I have been trying to find words for for years. Check it out and let me know what you think!
